Last week, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said there is no evidence of crimes committed by President George W Bush. Her office was inundated with copies of the various crimes alleged against Bush.

In her search for a plausible rationale for personally blocking any impeachment investigation of Bush, Pelosi now says they could not rely on the White House and GOP supplying the evidence needed to convict:

You cannot talk about impeachment unless you have the facts, and you cannot have the facts unless you have cooperation from the Administration.

She would not allow an investigation because Bush would never have supplied incriminating evidence against himself. They simply could not rely on the White House and GOP supplying the evidence needed to convict.
